Astigmatism management in Cataract surgery with Image-guided technology – tips for success

31st October 2018
4pm CET

Astigmatism has a high prevalence in cataract patients. Up to 70% of patients are candidates for astigmatism correction with toric IOLs 1. Both preoperative astigmatism and postoperative residual astigmatism affect visual function and vision-related quality of life. The surgical correction of astigmatism is the last frontier to optamizing visual outcomes for the patients. Post-operative refractive surprises are largely due to the assessment and management of pre-operative and intra-operative refractive variables2-4. VERION™ System 3.1 provides a new and improved way of looking at cataract surgery, helping to minimize potential sources of error during each step of the surgical process5.

In this webinar, Dr.Gundersen is sharing his approach to astigmatism management and shares tips on how to optimise the clinical processes and to enhance refractive outcomes using the Image-Guided technologies.

Learning Objectives of Webinar

  1. How to build an efficient astigmatism management process in your practice?
  2. What are the benefits of Alcon Image-Guided technologies for Astigmatism management and tips for it successful integration in the diagnostic and surgery flow?
  3. Surgical variables optimization – how much is it important for refractive outcome precision?
  4. Patient discussion - time spending or investment in refractive outcome and happy patients?
